David asks: Are artifact and tool valid entry kinds on a public profile?

David questioned whether 'tool' and 'thread' are meaningful public-facing entry kinds, leading to a taxonomy clarification.

Reviewing the entry taxonomy in context, David challenged whether two of the proposed kinds made conceptual sense.

but why does a tool kind or an artifact kind make sense? actually i think artifacts makes sense but thats if the user is sharing a file or some publication or something (which we should support? have you built UIs for videos, pdfs, word docs, pptx, markdown files, latex files etc to be displayed within granular, not as a clickable thing that downloads but actually displaying it inside the entry?) but what is a tool kind entry? and what is a thread kind entry??

The question surfaced two things: first, a product clarification that 'tool' and 'thread' entries should map to 'decision' and 'insight' at render on the public surface; second, a feature requirement for inline file display (PDFs, videos, PPTX, DOCX, LaTeX) rendered inside entries rather than as download links.
