David debugged: Investigated why PDF viewer overlay failed to load a clicked lecture slide in production
David asked the agent to investigate a production workspace where clicking an inserted PDF page opened a viewer that failed to load, and challenged the agent's initial diagnosis that the files were broken.
David described the issue:
i tried to click on one of the inserted pdf pages and then a pdf viewer overlay came up but it failed to load the pdf page. what's going on?
When the agent suggested filtering out broken files, David rejected the framing:
no, this is not about filtering out broken files because the files are not broken, and them being marked as broken is a bug. how can they be broken if i'm literally looking, with my own eyes, at the inserted pdf pages of the file in the lecture that kerra made? kerra literally inserted every single page of the file — so the file exists
This established the real problem: the files weren't broken, but their metadata state had been incorrectly flagged as broken, which the PDF viewer was trusting over the actual file availability. The investigation needed to find what was setting that broken flag and why.
