David's problem: Kerra was sending blank morning/evening SMS messages to users
David caught that the daily SMS reminders were being sent even when Kerra had no updates for the user, resulting in pointless texts.
David noticed the SMS reminder system was firing unconditionally.
also dont send SMSs to people for whom kerra doesnt have any updates for that day. people are getting texts where kerra says theres nothing going on which means the text is pointless. go study those specific sms by looking at each one that went out in the last run
This was raised in context of a broader SMS engagement system that sent morning (8am) and evening (5pm) messages to all onboarded users. The fix required conditional logic: check whether the user has any calendar updates, new candidates, or relevant activity before sending.
