David decided: Proposed referral pledge screen for signup to replace Genius Preview animation
David proposed replacing the final signup screen with a $20 referral pledge screen and decided to use email invitations rather than PayPal API payouts for the MVP.
David initiated the product discussion:
im thinking of replacing the animation on that screen and the copy on that screen with the following: i wanna make that screen a screen where we offer the person signing up $20 (sent via paypal) if they get 5 of their friends to sign up within the next 24h. and then we ask them to input the names...
After studying the existing email integration, he scoped down the payment complexity:
okay yeah lets do emails then. we wont do paypal api payouts integration. we should just store everything, all the data, and we'll do recon later.
He also made a flag-swap decision for the previous screen:
i might wanna bring it back later and replace it with this referral screen so make the 2 screens interchangeable easily by the flick of a flag or something
On legal terms, he was explicit:
the terms should be maximally (MAXIMALLY) FAVOURABLE TO US as far as the law will allow such that we arent held liable if no payment
