David decided: Specified granular profile chat bar should expand and float on scroll
David rejected an ugly inline chat bar implementation and directed that it should look like the previous design and shift into a floating hover state when the user scrolls.
After an agent restyled the Ask About David chat bar on the profile page, David gave feedback on both aesthetics and UX:
you've styled the input bar really ugly. go and make it beautifully like the old one was. and if the user scrolls then it should move from being in that position and become a hover near the bottom of the screen
When the hover state was implemented but too small:
it should be much bigger when it goes into the hover state. its too small and easy to not notice
The intent was clear: the chat bar should be prominent and visible at all times — anchored in the profile flow above the fold, then transitioning to a large floating element when the user moves below the fold.
