David noticed: The firms page value prop is exclusive data access, not AI analysis

David identified that framing Granular's recruiter offering as 'AI reads CVs and LinkedIn' undersells it, because any recruiter can already do that — the actual moat is data they can't access without Granular.

When an agent wrote firms-page copy emphasising that Granular reads CVs, LinkedIn, transcripts, and public talks to synthesise a fuller candidate picture, David pushed back:

ok im happy but the thing is that this adds zero value. they can just use claude for this. the point is that we have data they dont have. granular accesses their granular profile, uni

The principle he was applying: any description of Granular that a recruiter could replicate by opening Claude themselves is a weak value proposition. The actual selling point is the data Granular holds that doesn't exist elsewhere — specifically the AI-witnessed working record, the granular profile built from actual tool sessions — which is only accessible through Granular. He also caught a related over-claim:

our product isnt a 4 layer cake. it pulls everything about that person from every corner of the internet
